A dark russet tabby tom with a fierce olive gaze.
{ A } P P E A R A N C E:
The eyes of this young leader are captivating. Nearly entirely an olive shade, there are other various 'ribbons' of color twirled together and strewn neatly about his gaze. His left eye has more of the light chestnut 'ribbons' than the light, sea foam green, but this eye is still a fierce olive. Hollowstar's eyes are quite large when compared to most cats, but they are, however, quite near the average size amongst the Clan cats. As the 'ribbons' in the irises alternate colors and provide a breathtaking view for the onlooker, his dark obsidian pupils outlast all of the other shades and break through with unique boldness. In the end, Hollowstar's eyes may be the last thing a cat sees before taking a visit (and sometimes a permanent one) to StarClan.
He is a strong, strong cat, but he has met his match before in battles. Thick muscles line the inside of his skin, and they ripple as the young leader moves, walks, and flies about with his watchful eyes. As an apprentice, he was quite small and worried that he would never grow. But, grow he did. Now, as leader of his ever-growing Clan, Hollowstar is one large cat indeed (to his great relief). Hefty and ample, this tom's paws provide the anchor for his substantial build. Long legs succeed his paws and give him more support while his big-boned build erupts from beneath his fur. Truly, he's not that colossal, but he does tower over the majority of she-cats and toms. One thing that being small taught him was gracefulness and the ability to make himself even smaller and unseen if needed. Being such a tiny creature as an apprentice also taught him a lot about the World in general, which is described in his personality.
Ah, Hollowstar's pelt design. It's a short-haired one, that's for sure! On a particularly chilly or rainy day, he's more likely to be on the ground than flying as he can get cold quite easily. In leaf-bare, he tends to not go too far from camp and his warm nest. The main 'decor' on his pelt are his dark brown-black tabby markings. They consist of various stripes, circles around the limb (i.e. forepaw, leg, tail, mid-section, etc.), and the mark of the tabby - the prominent 'M' upon his forehead. Most of the other shades that can be found in his pelt consist of varying hues, tints, and patches of russet, mahogany, chestnut, and even some golden-touched auburn. These shades combine to make a very handsome tom (one fit to lead a clan! |D).
The very wings that sprouted upon Hollowstar's back during the tenth moon of his life have been with him through thick and thing. Like the rest of him, they happen to be quite large (they must scale to size, LOL). They're very strong since, in peril, battle, or trouble, they must carry big ol' Hollowstar. Overall, the majority of his wings are shades of brown like his pelt. The (fore-)tips (before the gold, babe. 'fore the gold.), however, happen to be much darker than the rest of his wings. Much like his tabby markings, they add a bit of a highlight to the wings and make the golden tips on the very end look quite dramatic (WING DESCRIPTION FAIL. nyaaah!! -runs to next paragraph-).
Hollowstar's little nose is more of a bright auburn than anything. The bridge right above the nose is the golden-touched auburn that can also be found throughout his pelt. To both sides of his nose are his brightly white whiskers that contrast with the rest of him. (While my mind is set on white) Long and pearly alabaster fur can be found sprouting right out of his ears, and the same fur can be found on his maw encircling his mouth and the bottom half of his nose. Honestly, it looks as if Hollowstar broke into a twoleg's house and dipped his maw into a bag of flour (lolwhat). Beige areas of color can be found upon his face in a band around his eyes.
Various battle scars can be found on this young leader's sides, legs, and even his underbelly! The scar located on his underbelly occasionally causes him pain, but usually it's just a momentary pinch as he's stretching or standing up after lying down for awhile. How he received such a drastic and life-changing injury is described in his history.
His former Warrior name can be broken down into two parts - a prefix and a suffix. The prefix stands for the hollow tree in which he was born within out in StormClan territory. The suffix stands for the place where he and his mentor worked hard to finish off his training - by a brook. It was also there that he was taught how to fly and was the first thing he ever flew over.
{ P } E R S O N A L I T Y:
Hollowstar, if anything, is a very independent cat. It's not that he doesn't like other cats, but he doesn't really care to socialize much. Oddly enough, the young leader does like to talk and to listen. He will let an elder talk his ear off for hours while other cats flock about him with their various problems. His mind is very complex and he is quite thoughtful. He even knows simple herbs used to heal his clanmates since he spent an entire moon in the medicine cat den helping the medicine cat as he managed about with his injury.
As mentioned briefly in his appearance, this large tabby tom was quite small as an apprentice and often wondered if he would ever grow. Knowing what it's like to be the tiniest of them all helps him be one of the biggest of them all these days. The little grace he retained helps him on a daily basis. He has excellent tree climbing ability and prefers to do so over flying. Flying in general terrifies him as it is what killed his brother. Of course, like any of the Clan cats, he will fly when needed.
Loyalty means everything to him. Before his time, his mother was unfaithful to her mate, Darkfur, and never told him that he wasn't the true father of little Hollowkit. This bothers him still as does stealing prey, out of Clan relationships of the intimate or loving kind, infractions of the Warrior Code (even the minor ones), and lying to your clanmates because you made a mistake. Honesty is the only thing that works with Hollowstar. Anything else is nothing better than dirt and you will be punished for doing so. If you lie about breaking the Warrior Code or even break it, you will be punished all the same.
Occasionally, his curiosity that he's carried with him since birth will get the best of him and he might pester someone with questions if they've caught his attention. If something suspicious is taking place and Hollowstar catches a whiff of it, he'll investigate and find out. This may appear nosy, but he's your leader and you need to respect him. Really, his appearance, his personality, and his rank and status demands respect from everyone in the Clans, but it isn't always what he ends up getting. Those who don't respect him mean nothing to him.
Fighting, bickering, even scuffles make him irritable. If StormClan is getting on the bad side of either Clan, he'll get uneasy and might just snap at any cats around him quite randomly and for nearly no reason. He's the boss. You don't challenge him or his actions unless you have indisputable evidence or reason to. Of course, if someone thinks differently or as an idea, he's very much so open-minded about those. But, if it's a punishment or he's just done something sketchy, ignore it. It'll save you the time and the harassment.
Hunting gets this big boy excited. It's the one thing that he knows he's good at and it's been that way since he was Hollowpaw. Thanks to both of his 'fathers', he learned to be good at one thing. Hollowstar is most likely to be seen leading a hunting patrol than a border patrol as they make him uneasy as his best friend and first love died on the border. The young leader's more likely to be found, in good weather, out in StormClan territory than in their camp. In bad weather, he stays close to his darling little den. That's just how he rolls.
To all of his Clan, he is a kind but strong, strict, and fair leader. He tries to hear everyone's side of the story before he makes a very big decision. Hollowstar was a born leader even though he didn't know it. Cracking under pressure is normal, but he handles it well so far. To his friends, he's a pretty happy-go-lucky tom-cat like he used to be as an apprentice. Really, when he thinks about it, he finds himself a different cat now than he was before and respects that about himself. The fact that he changed and matured to handle the situations surrounding him is a very good thing.
One look from him will send a shock right down your spine, if you're afraid of the tom, of course. Not everyone finds him as terrifying as he likes to believe he is. That's one thing that shows that he's still childish inside, but that will probably never go away. To be blunt, Hollowstar doesn't give a flying rubber duck what you think about him. He is what he is and he's not going to change for anyone. Not even a she-cat.
He's afraid to love anyone and he can get really frustrated with himself about that. This tom hasn't accepted love since he was an apprentice back in his eighth moon. Heck, that was thirty-one moons ago! Passionate emotions of all kinds make him want to go wreak havoc somewhere to distract himself. Hopefully that doesn't mean he'll go kill anyone since he doesn't believe in murdering for your own gain. Sure, he might threaten or joke about killing some cat, but he really won't.
His anger is as fierce as is dappled olive gaze. When someone ticks him off, Hollowstar with puff out his chest, raise his wings up high and menacingly, and try to scare the living mouse-dung out of you. If that doesn't work, he'll flatten his ears down against the back of his head and flash his sharp teeth at you and hiss. And, if that works, you better just run. And hide. Hiding is good too.
{ H } I S T O R Y:
As kit, all Hollowkit wanted to do was grow up and become a Warrior's apprentice. His parents bickered a lot so they didn't really notice when their son wandered off with his brothers, Zephyrpaw and Frenzypaw. No other cats really cared either. But, when Zephyrpaw attempted to fly out of a tree with his wings and died, the whole Clan kept a careful eye on Frenzypaw and little Hollowkit. One death was enough, but three? Unheard of an preventable! As his mother, Longrain, grew depressed from the death of her first born, she stopped giving milk and even allowing Hollowkit to touch her. It ripped his World apart, but somehow the little one didn't seem to notice. Instead, he focused even more on becoming a Warrior.
The day he noticed that he could move the wings upon his back, the leader of the Clan assigned Darkfur, Hollowkit's father, to protect his son from harm. Of course, like any good dad, Darkfur allowed the soon-to-be-apprenticed kit go on minor excursions with himself as a guide. Together, they were a happy little pair. That is, until Hollowkit became Hollowpaw. His mentor was to be the leader, Fallingstar (hey, it's better than calling him ONSTAR! xD ). Torn apart from his dad, the newly appointed apprentice spent nearly the entire day out of the camp being taught battle techniques. On the day that Fallingstar was going to teach his apprentice how to hunt, he was taken aback that Hollowpaw already knew.
They were never a close pair. After Fallingstar found out that Darkfur had been teaching Hollowkit nearly everything there was for an apprentice to learn before he even had a mentor, the leader grew angry and frustrated. Instead of allowing Hollowpaw any rest, he kept him away from both of his parents all day on all kinds of odd patrols. Quickly, poor little Hollowpaw started to grow ill and too exhausted to do anything but walk around while pratically sleeping with his eyes open. It was a sad time for him, but Fallingstar was soon found out by his deputy, Chasmfang. Banished from his Clan, Fallingstar left to become a rogue and lost his wings and his entire life.
The new mentor of Hollowpaw, Chasmstar, allowed him rest and time for play. It brightened up dear Hollowpaw and allowed for him to befriend a sweet and shy little she-cat named Honeypaw. She was a pacifist and preferred to spend her time hunting, much like him. They were great friends and he even had a crush on her until the day Hollowpaw caught her stealing prey from another Clan. Disappointed in her so-called 'pacifist..ism', he called her out on the spot and was in the process of chiding her when the other Clan's border patrol spotted them. In a flash, they had torn apart both of the apprentices and Honeypaw was killed in the battle. They left Hollowpaw there on the border to die as they had sliced his underbelly right open. Somehow, through pure luck, the little tom survived when his mentor came to check on him.
It was the saddest moon of his life as he spent much time in the medicine cat's den healing up his major injury. Chasmstar visited daily, as did Darkfur and Longrain, who had recovered from her depression. Frenzyclaw, Hollowpaw's now Warrior brother, also visited on a daily basis. Surrounded by herbs made him go mad with Warrior fever and his heart ached to go out and hunt. To play. To roam freely and go on patrols. Late one of the nights that he spent in that wretched den, he was visited in a dream by Honeypaw, who he had been quite heartbroken over."Hollowpaw, have you seen your father lately?" asked the sweet, glittering she-cat. Her tabby marked pale ginger fur was a sight for his sore, sore eyes. Nodding, he mewed, "Yes, of course. Darkfur was just in here today." A dark expression, much like a wince or a grimace came across Honeypaw's face. Her nose wrinkled and her brow furrowed. "No, Hollowpaw. Your real father." responded the she-cat of StarClan. Averting her gaze up to the sky, she stared at the falling stars. In an instant, Hollowpaw knew that the former leader and the dark tabby that had mentored him had fathered him. Confusing swept over him as he stared with fear at Honeypaw. Wordlessly, the beautiful she-cat padded over to where Hollowpaw stood and touched her nose to his before she turned around and flew into the sky with angelic wings. She was gone.
After his dream, Hollowpaw grew distraught and nervous of his next visit from Darkfur. Did he know? Obviously Longrain knew, but why had she deceived her so-called mate? Didn't they love each other? Thankfully, the next morning, the medicine cat announced that Hollowpaw could return back to training, but nothing too exhausting. Excited, the little apprentice returned to Chasmstar and finished his Warrior training. He let the dream drift into the back of his mind and took on the name Hollowbrook with a happy smile.
Half a moon later, when he was out on a solo hunting patrol, an odd scent had drifted into the freshly appointed Warrior's mouth and it made him cringe. Some little part of it was familiar. Following it, he was astonished to find Fallingstar, and everything that he had tried to forget came rushing back."Hollowpaw. You've grown your wings.." The old tom's greeting was a proud one, but his voice cracked with emotion. Was it anger? Depression? Joy? Hollowbrook couldn't decide. Bowing his head to his father, he let his olive eyes meet the same gaze. Surprised, his eyes widened and he wondered how he had missed that detail. It was so obvious! Had the whole Clan noticed long ago? Dispelling those thoughts, he opened his mouth to speak before the awkward silence grew to be too strong. "It's Hollowbrook. And..and what are you doing here?" mewed the young Warrior with narrowing eyes. "To see you, of course. You do know who I am by now, correct?" Afraid to respond, he turned tail and ran back to his camp, leaving all of his prey behind.
Since that day, Hollowbrook has matured and went through a personality change. He even acquired a strong, secret desire to become a leader like his father. He never told Darkfur or Longrain that he knew, and was very surprised that when Chasmstar's deputy died, he was selected as the new one. Over half a year ago, his second mentor died, leaving Hollowbrook to become Hollowstar. With ease, he named Rowanstreak as his deputy and has even more recently developed a minor crush on her. He is yet to tell her as he has barely even realized it.

[/u]"[/center]A loud whimper escaped from her fear stricken face as her olive eyes watched a dark tabby tom emerge from the direction that she had previously heard the noise coming from. Owl's eyes of course had widened with shock and managed to be more fearful than before. The first thought that flew across her subconscious was that this indigo-eyed beast had kidnapped and killed her dear, dear Hawk. A worried glance down to his blood-free paws comforted part of her and his somewhat welcoming gaze soothed her.
Nothing could make the ache in her heart go away. That ache would forever stay with the young calico. The ache from being around any toms. Anything that could hurt her. But, today she was in a daze. It wasn't anywhere close to sunhigh yet and her baby was missing. 'Perhaps..this tom could help?' asked the small portion of her mind that tried to be friendly or helpful.
On any normal day, Owl would have already scurried away and the thought wouldn't have appeared at all. Now, on this horrid morning, it was oh so tantalizing to her ill at ease mind. Looking hard at the tom, her eye narrowed a bit down to normal size. It shocked her to the core when the tom spoke. She stood stock-still as words trickled from his mouth."It's not polite to stare.
With a single small, choked laugh, Owl nodded, allowing her eyes to travel down to her paws. Opening her mouth, she took in a shaky breath and tasted salt on the air. It took her a moment to realize that she had been crying. The wetness had not been apparent on her face until then. Raising her olive gaze up to the other cat's indigo gaze, the young, calico mother opened her mouth once more, but this time to speak.
A dry film had covered her tongue and before she could utter a single mew, cry, or acknowledgment, her mind raced back to the last time that she had even spoken to a tom. It had been moons ago. 'Are you sure about this, Owl?' she asked herself silently. A picture of a suffering little Hawk entered her mind and she instantly knew that she must do it for her kit. Her baby. Her entire living and breathing world. Anxiety rose up inside of Owl again as she came back to the present and out of her mind.
Staring once more at the tom, she attempted to speak once more. She was going to be strong this time. Yes, she was going to do it. Then, before she knew what she had done, four urgent and barely audible words had come out of her mouth without even a stutter. The situation was that serious.
"My kit is missing."

I am in love with this cat. -nods- This bio was oodles of fun to writeand I'm very proud of itand I can't wait to roleplay him (Thank you, Jack Johnson. In the midst of my early morning heartburn, I wrote something beautiful with his musical help! xD ). On the other site(s) I'm on, he's only wittle Hollowpaw. It's awesome to see him grown up and mature! Honestly, I've never done a cat with wings! Very original idea. I hope we can get this site really active. I'll probably end up nagging a few of my friends over at Forever & Always to join (yay). Most likely, I'll end up making a bunch of cats ( xD ). I'm just like that. I MUST ALSO PRAISE YOUR SKIN. It's quite beautiful. :3 KAY, I'MMA STOP RANTING NOW.
EDIT: I hope you don't mind how I kind of jazzed up the bio code. Didn't see anything that said I was allowed to and didn't see anything that said I wasn't. I really hope it's not an unspoken rule or anything, LOL.
DOUBLE EDIT: Don't expect bios like this all the time, LOL. I was just bored and worked for four hours. o-o And, I had really bad heartburn and I couldn't sleep. So...yeah. xD
